Talk to your friends who are planning on buying the games. We need to make sure everyone knows about this predatory, money grubbing behavior that has infected the industry. If you want to go further Write to these developers and voice your displeasure. It’s going to take more than just one game protest to fix this problem.
I urge everyone to boycott all EA games. Also be on the lookout for the same P2W model in other upcoming titles. Make sure you research what you’re actually purchasing. Yes you are going to miss out on titles that you really want to play. And yes, it’s going to take some serious self control not to give in. But we speak with our wallets.
We hold all the power. It’s up to every individual who cares about this problem to step up and force a change within this industry.

A war is not won in a single battle. That being said, it can be lost in a single battle. We can't let them win this battle or it's all but lost already. If they win, then there will never be a group big enough to stop them. They will continue their practices because it was successful and will continue to be successful over and over again because of ignorance of the masses. We NEED this win. We NEED to draw a line in the sand and stand firm.
Once we show that we are a group that can make or break a massive company like EA, we can start to influence the industry. People will see that we have the power, numbers, and credibility to make a difference. But if we fail, then we will be a joke. Our efforts will have been in vain, these practices will become the norm, and there will be precious little we can do about it. Tl;dr: If you're a fan of rhythm games or Vocaloid music, I highly recommend it. It is good and they have a lot of great Vocaloid stuff. The gameplay really is quite tight and the note presentation is a nice deviation from a lot of standard rhythm games, in that it uses the full screen instead of ordered rows to present notes.

While this, combined with the music video in the background, can actually make reading charts a pain in the ass, it is a fun part of the experience and allows them to do some cool visual note presentations. Speaking of music videos, the game's presentation is fairly top notch with a lot of really neat videos playing in the background (fully unique to each song in most games) which is a fun bonus to try and not let you forget the next few notes.

Depending on how much you like this sort of thing, the various games also have a fair amount of dress up options for the characters. Not really my cup of tea outside of making some really incredibly silly looking music videos, but some people dig it. A couple of the games also have room decoration, friendship with the idols, etc. For the most part it is fairly easy to ignore if you don't want to engage with it or plain find it creepy. Presuming you are thinking about playing on PS4, I highly recommend you do Project Diva Future Tone. It is digital only, but it has a few benefits. For starters, you can try it for free: It only features two songs, but that should be enough to at least see whether you have any interest.
After that, there are two main 'packs' to buy that add songs:. Future Sound:. Colorful Tone:.

Future Sound & Colorful Tone Bundle (Save $6!): These packs have 120 and 100 songs respectively (so 220 total), and you are really not going to get a better rhythm game deal than that. The Future Sound pack covers songs that have been released on other Project Diva games, while Colorful Tone covers songs from the arcade and Mirai DX. I do not recommend you pick up Project Diva X (which I suspect is the one you saw at Gamestop). While it is a perfectly fine game and has songs that Future Tone does not, it is -really- thin on the value (30-some odd songs) and actually mostly focuses much more on the social sim aspect and a weird little story mode. If you're still on the fence, check out the song list and go check out some of the music.
Vocaloid stuff is pretty variable, but it is important to like what you hear in rhythm games. Deep breath Hopefully that helps and doesn't totally overwhelm you.
