Cool, I'll give that a try, might be my saving grace. I did find one little bonus however. I accidentally re-run the office install on my laptop which then needed activating again, but obviously it wouldn't activate over the internet due to it already being activated. Tried activation by telephone which then worked. At least that saved me having to use another license on my machine.

Someone once said to me that MS removed the feature that locked the license to the H/W and you can reuse the lenience again after 3 months (I think) of it being activated. We are using OfficeHomeBusinessRRetail edition and it doesn't show the licence key in produkey. The key below does match any of our physical licenses. So selected I have a key, entered the key from the box, redeemed online and entered M$ account. This brought me to the account page with the list of my office keys. How ever the first and last ones were the same even after I registered the two new ones.

So looks like these news keys have been entered into the list at random places. I've just done a quick test and running produkey on my machine gives the same last block as the M$ script does so it does look like this will give the correct key for the machine. However this does not help when your reinstalling a machine and you need to find the correct key in the office.com/myaccount page unless you run produkey on everyone machine and start logging Key files. Might be nice if M$ would even just add a Date&Time field when the key was registered.

This could help some people. Again I plan on testing more on the next few new machines we get, this time i'll be creating new M$ accounts for each machine and checking the Keys then.
